Retrievers that are Golden

Golden Retrievers were bred in the 1800’s by Lord Yellow Tweedmouth.  In the Scottish highlands he crossed the Flat-Coated Retriever, Tweed Water Spaniel bloodhound, and Irish setter.  Golden Retrievers are a member of the sporting group of dogs.  They were bred to retrieve birds for hunters.

Golden retrievers have a maximum height of 24 inches and a maximum weight of 80 pounds.

Golden Retrievers have turned out to be one of the best pets that a person can buy.  They are energetic and get along well with children. They are very intelligent and learn quickly.

They do need a lot of exercise. This breed needs to be walked often.  The Golden Retriever needs a lot of living space.  This means that a house or large property.  An apartment is too closed in for this kind of dog.
